Mind Machines Newsletters

Open wide!

Dentist Sharon Gregory has had terrific results with the original MindLab (now superceded by the MindLab Proteus).

"I can't believe how effective the MindLab has been on my patients. Just last Friday I treated three men in succession who were very nervous. I put each of them on a 15-minute Relax session, and within minutes my dental nurse and I could see their bodies relaxing.

"I've put about 30 people on the MindLab and only two of them didn't like the experience. the rest found using the MindLab to be really relaxing. When I show people the MindLab I tell them that it has softly pulsing lights that help your mind to relax. they're usually very keen to give it a try".
Adds Sharon, I'm always on the lookout for new ideas for helping patients get rid of their nervousness. We even have 3D glasses that children use so they can watch their favourite DVDs while I check their teeth out. I saw the information on the MindLab and was a little sceptical at first but I decided to give one a try in the surgery and we all find it marvellous.

"It makes my job so much easier if my patients are relaxed. If they are tense then that rubs off on me and I take longer to do the job. Our patients have been so impressed that they've asked if they can buy the MindLab from us, so we've started to sell them now."
Sharon isn't the only dentist who has caught onto the potential of the MindLab. Philip Wander, a dentist based in Manchester, captured the attention of the Sunday Times recently.
the paper reported: "Wander is experimenting with a machine called the MindLab, designed to send the patient into levels of deep relaxation -- known as the alpha state."
With the patient's senses entertained and their body relaxed, the dentist can get on with the work of repairing teeth.
David Siever, an authority on mind machines based in Canada, has shown that the deep relaxation induced by mind machines reduces muscle tension in the jaw, so the standard jaw ache experienced after dental work is significantly reduced.

Skiing triumph

This story appeared in a Japanese newspaper article: A Mr. Harada, a member of the national ski jumping team in Japan recently came back from Europe with four successive victories.
When asked in a press conference what he attributes his success to he said improvement in technique and mental training. When asked about mental training he said he uses the Voyager Galaxy every day and never feels fatigued.
then Mr. Sasaki, head of the Japan Ski Federation, announced plans to use them with the entire Japan ski team.

Constant companion

Paul Scheele, developer of the Paraliminal CDs and the PhotoReading whole mind system, is a keen owner of the original MindLab (now superceded by the MindLab Proteus):

"With the life I lead I need to have something for myself that works quickly. the MindLab is such a wonderful thing to have. It's really a way to get a rest and 10 times more benefit -- without 10 times more effort. I've come across a few people who can't stand mind machines, but those who can stand them are totally on to them. I personally have a psychedelic experience every time.

"For me the additional benefit of the MindLab comes when I realise that I may be tired and I need to re-energise. It's like sitting in a really comfy chair.

"I use the MindLab especially when I'm travelling as I give talks round the world. the MindLab is my constant companion. It's perfect for overcoming jetlag and recharging my internal batteries. I call it my portable brain spa.
"

I often use the MindLab in combination with the Paraliminal CDs. People are often surprised when I tell them that I listen to my own CDs -- of course I do!"

MindLab helps in martial arts

Martial artist Robert Jefford from Gillingham in Kent swears by his MindLab.
"I bought a few years ago, and I still use it on a daily basis."
Born in England, but raised in Japan and Hong Kong from the age of seven, Robert is a 6th Dan in Karate, 6th Dan in Judo, 1st Dan in Aikido and 1st Dan in Kendo. He's senior registrar and technical officer of the Independent Karate Association -- and teaches Karate and other martial arts to a class of boys and girls, men and women between the ages of 5 and 80.
He has taught martial arts to members of the Kent police force for the last 15 years. He's also a Reiki Master, running courses in this ancient method of healing. By day he works for a busy printing company. Phew! No wonder he needs his MindLab.

"Using the MindLab is a profound, energy-enhancing experience. It enhances my skills in martial arts and Reiki. I've noticed a tremendous increase in my energy and creativity. It has also helped me in my studies -- I do lots of complex and exacting research into Reiki symbology, so I need a clear and focused mind. My MindLab brings clarity and focus to each project, so I can call information to mind quickly and assimilate new knowledge with ease.

"I play around with all the sessions built into the MindLab. My two favourites are Visualise, which is built-in, and Creativity which comes on the free Synetic Sampler CD. I use it just about every day. If I'm doing some in-depth study then I'll use it for up to two hours a day.

"the MindLab was a bit like a new toy at first. I tried out all the sessions, exploring all its facets and possibilities -- it was a real learning process. It then became apparent just how profound the unit is. the MindLab became more of a tool to help me perform better at the various disciplines I'm involved with.

Has the MindLab helped you at work?
"
Well, my job as a printer is very demanding. I feel so much calmer at work now. I used to be very stressed as I often work long shifts and up to six days work without a break. there isn't always time to get away for five or ten minutes to activate one of the techniques from the disciplines I've learned.

"But when I get home, I stick on the MindLab liteframes and the unit takes away all the tension and stress. At times I've felt like I was floating through the air. Over time the serene, peaceful state the MindLab creates has become a habit in my daily life, so I'm much more relaxed at work.

"I always achieve more than I set out to achieve, which is a delightful surprise and a bonus.

"Using the MindLab reminds me of the film Short Circuit in which a military robot called Johnny Five is struck by lightning and comes alive. I feel like the robot crying 'Input, input' as I seem to be absorbing information at a faster rate than before, and open to the new possibilities that the universe has to offer.
Robert recently completed a tour of Hong Kong teaching martial arts, Reiki levels one and two, and a Reiki symbols course.
"I took my MindLab with me, of course. I wouldn't be without it. Every Reiki Master and Karate teacher should use one. It brings new knowledge and awareness to enhance both disciplines. It really has changed my life."

You can contact Robert via LifeTools -- we'll be happy to pass on any messages or letters to him.

MindLab climbs Kilimanjaro!

I recently climbed 19,500 feet to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa (writes LifeTools' Managing Director Chris Payne) -- and used a prototype of the MindLab Orion every day but one of the 20 day trip.

I felt fine on the climb and slept like a log at night, whereas most of the others in the 21-strong party had headaches, experienced altitude sickness or didn't sleep at all well. I don't know whether the Orion played any part (I don't do any sport and very little exercise, by the way) -- but I'm so glad I took it with me!

Cycling Plus features MindLab!

Cycling Plus magazine featured the MindLab in an article titled Get Fit.
Competitive cyclist Paul Vincent has just completed four of the stages of the Mountain Bike Tour of Britain. To keep fit Paul has been experimenting with hypergravity training (training with added weight on his bike), tweaking his diet, replanning interval training -- and using the MindLab under the supervision of Joe Beer, director of coaching for the Performance Training and Coaching Club. Joe tested the effect that a MindLab session had on Paul's heartrate:

'the graph (below) shows a mid day relaxation session using the MindLabrelaxation system, a tool used to reduce stress, increase energy and aid relaxation. 20 Paul was able to get his heart rate to 66 on his own accord, but the MindLab got it over 5% lower! This means less energy expended, more recovery potential and (in his own words):'a feeling of relaxation and calm'.

Joe contacted us separately and told us he'd used the MindLab on a 52-year-old male martial artist. the first five minutes was spent with the man trying to relax under his own steam. He averaged 74 beats per minute. Joe
put him on a RELAX 25 session and the subject's heart rate dropped by as much as 6.75% to 69. At the end of the session the subject reported: "started strong in terms of light... like Pink Floyd without the music... definitely more relaxed... better focus... "
