kinklessGTD)iWeb for creating my blog and photo albums Sound Studio 3 for editing interviews I record Delicious Library for storing my business-related books textSOAP 3 for cleaning up emailed text for use in newsletters etc |

...and I use an Olympus WS-300M Digital Voice Recorder for dictating ideas as I drive or walk around.
For names and addresses:
A Palm Tungsten T3, which stores around 850 names and addresses.
I've also
been using AllTime
from iambic software on
my Palm. It's a wonderful time
tracker, so I can see what I'm
doing during each business day.
For example,
if I'm about to start a meeting
with a team member, I start
up AllTime, select New: Time,
enter 'M' in the Client field,
which brings up Marketing, E in the Project field brings up Effort-Free seminar, M
in the Activity field brings
up Meeting on-site, and I start
the timer -- and switch off.
I can then call up the calculator or my diary during the meeting and the timer keeps going. At the end of the meeting I switch off the timer. This creates a log for that event.
My day is made up of between 8 and 12 such events each day. I can then export, say, a week of these events to my Mac via the built-in Memo Pad, and once in the Mac the file can be imported into Microsoft Excel.
AllTime costs $39.95 (about £27), and I think it's worth every penny!
I also use
Idea
Fisher on the Mac for generating
ideas. I first bought it in
1993 as I was setting up LifeTools,
and I used it to brainstorm
what the business would do and
how I would market it.
I recently upgraded to ThoughtOffice which is the OS X version.
My 30-gig Apple
iPod houses about 6,000 songs
from my CD collection, which
is now in the garage! I plug
it into a portable inMotion 3 speaker unit at home, which I have 2 sets of rechargeable batteries for, so I can sit the
iPod on top, then take it round
the house with me, playing music
as I go. Now I can bath the
boys while playing music, stack
the discwasher, and so on!!
So the iPod has changed the
way I listen to my music.
I type
a diary every night into an Alphasmart
Dana keyboard. This low-cost
device is very light and versatile
and does its job brilliantly.
It¹s basically a Palm with
a full-size keyboard, so the
battery lasts for maybe a month
before it needs charging.
I have used it on trains and
planes for notetaking. Later
I connect it to my laptop using
a simple USB cable, press the
Dana's Send button, and
all the text types itself into
Word, or straight into Quark
Xpress, as though I was typing
it there and then at breakneck
speed.
.
I have also
used a Palm Folding Keyboard
with my Palm. It really is excellent
and both fit easily into my
jacket pockets.
